Journal #2: Transportation system

Getting out of the international airport Los Angeles three weeks ago, I was really impressed by the road system in this State. They are wide and extremely organized. However, I could fully understand the comment “the United States of America has the best roads in the world, but the lousiest public transportation” four days after that when I went to the university and heard many complains about the bus. There seem few buses on the roads and they are not very punctual.

In fact, I stay at the University Village and walk to the school every day. I do not own a car and have not had chances to get around here in America, even by car or by bus. Moreover, three weeks is not a long time enough to have an exact comment on transportation system in this state, except what I have seen on streets very day. They are much peaceful than transportation system in my home country, especially Ho Chi Minh City where most of foreigners feel stressful to travel on the streets. If you would like to experience a traffic jam or a drive of motorbike once, you can visit my country.

See you there :)

  1. I heard many times there were a lot of motorbikes in Ho Chi Minh City as you said. If I could visit the city, I would complain a heavy traffic, yet I would be attracted by a lively atmosphere.

  3. Ha ha! Actually, I will go to Saigon later this summer. I am not too worried about the traffic, though, because I used to live in southern China where the only rule of the road was, "Every man for himself!"
