Confucius was a well-known philosopher of all time not only in Chinese tradition but also in Southeast Asian culture. His philosophy emphasized on personal characteristics and moral values with famous quotes which have deeply influenced on our thought and life. The quote: “Find a job that you love doing and you will never have to work a day in your life” is one among “hundreds” of them.
The quote is a very good experience of choosing job in our life. If you do the work you like, you will never think that you have to do it but you are enjoying what you are doing. To me, it is an accurate advice for a particular work which is not constant for a whole life. The quote seems somewhat exaggerated to say “you will never have to work a day in your life”. Human being is not always generous and munificent to everything that happens to him. In all our life, there will be some times we feel sad and tired because of someone or some troubles in our work and that will affect our feeling on the work. We can think we work for our responsibility at that time.
My relatives usually told me that I am so patient to play with my little nephews. In fact, I really love them and I enjoy playing with them. However, the children’s full of energy sometimes make me exhausted. Therefore, I believe that there will be some time people do not really enjoy the job that they chose as the career of their life before.
I know that it's not easy to play with kids because I also have two nieces. When you have children in the future, I beleive, you will be a very wonderful mother. I hope you can enjoy your study, job, and life with your family.
ReplyDeleteI had a teacher in high school who also didn't agree with this quote. He always said, "I don't care how much you love your work, it is still work."
