My preconceived opinion of American food is hamburger although I later find out that there are many different explanations of its origin. So, what is American food? It is not easy to define it without injuring the American pride. However, the United States has a diverse culture with people from various customs. They themselves have brought their own cuisine to build up the American foods. If the United Kingdom is said that they do not have many traditional foods, they still have haggis in Scotland or fish and chips in Britain. The American food is a mixture of a melting pot. I myself do not like American foods because if it is not fast foods, it is well-cooked, even over cooked foods which I think they are lost vitamins that ingredients of the foods may contain.
Honestly, if my friend said, “Let’s go eat American,” I will ask him/her whether he/she means to go to eat American foods. I am a little confused because I usually use “go Dutch” which means each person participating in a shared activity pays for himself or herself, rather than any one person paying for anyone else when I was in high school or undergraduate. Although it may be accepted in some situations, such as between non-intimate friends or less affluent people, but considered stingy in other circumstances, such as on a romantic date or at a business lunch. How about go eat American? Am I right with my understanding above? Is there anyone who can help me? I’ll thank you by going eat American! Hehehe :)
Have a nice weekend
